Welcome to Raia Tech & Training Institute, a Kenyan-born education startup on a mission to skill and re-skill young professionals with practical, market-ready skills in technology, business, marketing, and IT governance.

We believe that talent is everywhere, and that affordable, guided, and opportunity-linked learning can change the trajectory of learners across Kenya and beyond.

Our work is anchored on three core philosophies:

We actively invite passionate tutors to join us, especially in areas such as graphics design, mobile app development, programming, accounting and bookkeeping, business strategy, and project management.

Our Strength

Our greatest strength lies in our people, starting with our lead tutor, Mr. Ian Mbogo, who brings over 20 years of experience in the IT sector and a strong track record of mentoring learners one-on-one.

Our flagship course, WEB101 – Introduction to Web Design, reflects our commitment to delivering courses that leave you with tangible skills you can use immediately.

We also champion a scaffolding teaching method where advanced cohorts support newer learners, leading to peer-to-peer learning that benefits both the mentor and the mentee.

Learners receive personalized support, including direct contact with tutors, so that no one feels left alone on their learning journey.

Our Aspirations

We aspire to build a model peer-to-peer learning community where every learner is guided by a real expert or mentor, much like apprentices learning from a master.

We reject the idea that all learners must progress in a rigid, linear way and instead embrace flexible learning paths that match each person’s goals and pace.

Our vision is to offer courses that are highly relevant to individual aspirations, whether a learner wants to go deep into technical work, focus on business skills, or blend both.

Learners can choose to focus on the practical parts they need most, while still having access to foundational theory when they need to revisit or confirm concepts.

The Lead Team

Our current core team is intentionally lean and high-performance, led by:

Mr. Ian Mbogo – Lead Tutor, Strategist, and Technology Director at Raia Tech, with 20+ years in IT and a deep passion for mentoring learners.
Mr. Ernest Mwaura – Governance and Structure Lead, with over 40 years of experience in governance and organizational design, ensuring that Raia grows on a solid, scalable foundation.

Together, they combine practical teaching experience and robust governance to build an institution designed to last and to maintain high standards as it scales.

Supporting Team

We are actively building a strong supporting team around our core vision and are looking for:

Tutors (especially qualified TVET CDACC tutors) across various craft and technical fields.
Graphics designers to turn complex ideas into visual stories that aid learning.
Video editors to refine long-form instructional content into smooth, engaging lessons.
Digital marketers, ideally trained through our own programs, to help us reach more learners.

We are keen to collaborate with established organizations, startups, and SMEs that can offer our graduates real-world projects and roles to sharpen their skills.

For example, if you need a digital marketing executive or junior developer, we are happy to recommend trained learners who can support your business while building their careers.

Our affiliate program allows community members to earn by referring learners to Raia Tech. Referral rewards start from KES 200 per enrolled student and can go higher depending on the course, with some referrals earning up to KES 1000 per student. Each course clearly indicates the affiliate payout, and you can earn again if the same student enrolls in additional paid courses.

Join Our Team: Become a Tutor or Mentor

If you are an expert in any field related to our programs and are passionate about mentoring the next generation, we would love to work with you.

Our tutor model is based on revenue sharing, where you earn as learners enroll in and complete your courses.

You can design your own course, record and upload content, and then work with us to deliver a high-impact learning experience using our scaffolding model.

Our Pricing Model

Our pricing model balances accessibility with sustainability, ensuring that learners receive strong value while we can continue to deliver and improve high-quality content.

Course prices are based on the depth and value of the skills taught, currently ranging from approximately KSh 4,475 for foundational courses to around KSh 49,475 for advanced programs.

Pricing is designed to:

Cover content development and platform costs.
Fairly compensate tutors for their time and expertise.
Encourage learners to commit and complete their courses.

Corporate training pricing typically starts from around KSh 79,485 for on-site programs, with customized pricing available for per-learner and online training models.

Funding

As a growing startup, Raia Tech is currently self-funded, with all investments so far coming directly from the founders.

We are open to aligned funding that respects our mission of democratizing education and supports us in scaling our impact responsibly.
